physical security

How safe and secure are your facilities?

You have an obligation to provide a safe working environment for your employees, visitors, and customers. A safe and secure environment not only benefits the people, it will help your organization’s reputation and reduce the potential for costs and liabilities associated with trespass, theft, and injuries.

Physical Security Threat Risk Assessments (TRAs)

A Threat Risk Assessment (TRA) of the physical security of your facilities, examines the physical environment of your organization: assets, buildings, people, information, and procedures. By reviewing current status, understanding potential threats, and identifying physical security vulnerabilities, NCI’s experts will produce a detailed risk analysis report with prioritized recommendations for remediation. Our methodology includes the following steps:

  • Based on the client’s requirements, the scope of the assessment is defined, e.g., which facilities/areas, which assets (people, equipment, etc.)
  • A project plan is created that includes defining detailed steps, client personnel that will be involved, client’s goals and security objectives, and any specific methodology or reporting requirements.
  • The site survey includes assessing existing security systems, employee interviews, and observation. Any existing policies and procedures are reviewed with respect to completeness, validity and practice. Records on any previous breaches, and any crime statistics related to the region, the industry, etc. are reviewed to assess levels and types of risk.
  • The NCI TRA report will document all findings; classify risks as “low”, “medium”, or “high” based on the probability of occurrence and seriousness of consequences; and recommend countermeasures for high risk findings.
