NAC - Network Access Control
Authentication at the network port.
Authentication at the network port level provides greater security within internal enterprise zones, for example in boardrooms, where there may be frequent guests. NAC enables you to provide guests access by limiting their access permissions to only those areas and only to certain network assets. NAC can also be used for wireless network authentication to gain access to LAN resources.
Coupled with an existing user directory, NAC can be deployed in a phased approach: certain public areas first, then later for every enterprise port.
